Bus

Bus services operate in all suburbs.  Buses run between 5 minute and 1 hour intervals depending on the day and time.  You are well advised to consult a timetable before using the bus service.  Fares around the metro area range from $2.00 to $12.00 for adults and $0.80 to $4.60 for concession.  There are also Family and Day tickets available for $11.60 for basically unlimited travel.  Day Riders can be used just about any time where as Family Riders are limited to weekends, public and school holidays.

 

Children under 5 can travel free provided they are accompanied by someone over 15 year and children between 5 and 15 years qualify for Concession fares.

There is also a free bus service that operates around the CBDs of Perth and Fremantle.  These services enhance movement around these centres and run daily between 7.00am and 6.30pm at 5 minute intervals.  On weekends they operate between 10.00am and 6.00pm at 25 minute intervals.  There is no service on Public Holidays.

Train

From the city there are train lines which run out to Midland(East), Armadale(South East), Fremantle (South) and Joondalup(North).  Trains run between 5 minute and 1 hour intervals depending on the day and time.  You are well advised to consult a timetable before using the train service.

 

There is also a passenger line down to Mandurah, approximately 100km south of the CBD.

 

Daily train services also operate to Bunbury, approximately 200km south, and to Kalgoorlie, around 450km to the east.

Ferry

The ferries operate mainly between Barracks Street Jetty (City) and Mend Street Jetty (South Perth and Zoo). Operating times are from 7.00am to 7.30pm daily and ferries are between 20 and 30 minutes apart.  Fares around the metro area range from $2.00 to $12.00 for adults and $0.80 to $4.60 for concession.  There are also Family and Day tickets available for $11.60 for basically unlimited travel.  Day Riders can be used just about any time where as Family Riders are limited to weekends, public and school holidays.

Taxi

There are a number of taxi operators in Perth and the major players are Swan Taxis, Black & White Cabs, London Cabs and Triclour Taxis.  They operate around 1000 taxis from ranks in the CBDs of Fremantle, Perth and Northbridge, as well as the airport.
