2021 GT Nationals and Covid 19
The NAFGTC Inc. Executive Committee has met with representatives from the 2021 GT Nationals organising committee to discuss the implications of Covid 19 Pandemic.
This outbreak had already forced a change to a Teleconference for the Conference in May as you already know.
With the end point and full impact of the pandemic being a guessing game, the organising committee are concerned about the impact this will have on the Concourse in 2021, and they feel a postponement may be inevitable.
The organising committee and the host venues have put a lot of work into preparing for the 2021 GT Nationals and all are very keen to see this go ahead and to be a success for all.
With that in mind, the decision of the NAFGTC Inc Executive Committee and the Queensland representatives is that everything is put on hold for now. The consensus was that the GT Nationals will most likely be postponed for a minimum of 6 months.
Moving forward the plan is:

During these times of great uncertainty please make sure you put the health of yourself and your loved ones first. While being involved in a club or Nationals activities can be a welcome distraction, no-one should feel compelled to continue with these activites if it compromises your health or the health of your family.
Everyone’s physical and emotional health is the most important thing during this pandemic and as a group we want to see everyone come out the otherside fit and well. Please ensure you reach out for any assistance you may need, there are others that can and will help.
Until our next update, stay well and stay safe.

19th GT Nationals and Covid 19 May Update
The Nationals Association of Falcon GT Clubs (NAFGTC) Executive Committee and the 2021 Falcon GT Nationals Organising Committee met recently to re-visit the implications of the Covid-19 pandemic.
In recent weeks the country has made better than anticipated progress and governments have commenced mapping the path out of lockdown. Things are looking a bit more positive at the moment. The Falcon GT Owners Club of Qld Nationals organising committee continues to liaise with venues on procedures and processes that may be implemented post lockdown by organisers to ensure the successful running of the 19th Falcon GT Nationals.
With that in mind, the decision of the combined committees is to re-assess the situation in another 4 weeks.

July Update
Covid-19 continues to provide challenges requiring active management by state and federal governments and indeed us as individuals - eg Victoria reverting to Stage 3 restrictions for Melbourne metro from July 8 and other states restricting movements of travellers from outside their state to differing degrees. The Nationals Organsising Committee is monitoring the situation closely and with the Nationals over eight months away the belief amongst the group is the covid-19 situation will be better under control Australia-wide before then and we will be good to go.
Survey work conducted since early June to date provided positive feedback around peoples’ intentions to attend the 2021 Nationals. Most cannot wait to get to the next Falcon GT Nationals.
The Nationals Organising Committee are actively liaising with venues and sponsors and believe they will be in a better position to advise on the state of play regarding the Event date by the August monthly review meeting. For your info, event trophy manufacture is already being progressed
The focus is on the event proceeding on its original scheduled date of 1st - 5th April 2021.

11th August Update
Covid-19 has proved highly volatile with varying virus suppression outcomes across the country resulting in varying levels of restrictions including hard state border closures.
Against this backdrop, the Executive Committee of the National Association of Falcon GT Clubs Inc.(NAFGTC) and representatives from the Falcon GT Owners Club of Queensland’s 19th GT Nationals Organising Committee (the host club) held a planned review meeting on 11th August 2020.
At that meeting the host club advised that regrettably, due to the current situation of the pandemic in Australia they are unable to hold the event in Easter 2021.
Following discussion the host club’s decision was accepted by the NAFGTC Executive Committee with a view to the host club re-submitting an alternative date for consideration, at a later stage.
Moving forward:
NB: Due the pandemic affected environment it may be some months before a date is set.
